Yupz ... 22 April is Earth Day. Earth Day was first celebrated 40 years ago, or rather in 1970 and was first performed in the United States. Earth Day was first initiated by Gaylord Nelson. He was a senator. Earth Day was the his idea instigated the first time during a speech in Seattle in 1969 on the insistence to include controversial issues.

Nelson
got the idea of the astonishing
support from civil
society. This support continues to grow and culminated
with EARTH DAY
commemorated the anniversary of the
monumental. TIME magazine
estimates that about 20 million people took to
the streets on 22 April 1970.
The
first Earth Day in United States is the climax of
the struggle of environmental movement in
the 60's to enter the environmental issues as an urgent national fixed agenda.
Now Earth Day has
become a global
event. EARTH DAY
alert the practitioner to unite themselves in
a global network of civil society for

NETWORK which is based
in Seattle. The first Earth Day '70 and 20 million people in
the U.S., Earth Day 1990 involving 200 million people
around the world, on Earth Day 2000 involved an estimated 500
million people around the world with the jargon
of "making history - making change".
